Can anyone help me ID the fonts in Newsweek magazine? It's neither Frutiger or Univers

Judging from the lowercase a, it's neither Frutiger nor Univers; a British Grotesque, perhaps...

The serif is Fenway by Matthew Carter.
Not available for licensing I think.

Nick's suggestion is a good one. For a robust family along the same lines, try Bureau Grot:
