For the benefit of others, here is a bit of Hrant's link. You can judge the appropriateness of his example yourself:
A chef savagely murdered his ex-wife after she taunted him on Facebook about reporting him to the Child Support Agency, a court heard today.
Adam Mann, 29, beat 30-year-old Lisa Beverley to death with a hammer and left her body to be found by their five-year-old son.
Perhaps you, Hrant, could start deleting things? For the common good?
I often run into things I've written that I wish I hadn't, but I don't even edit those. I believe in not hiding my mistakes. In fact I hope that others confront them. It's the only way to improve (which I have, although perhaps not enough) and that's why I'm here.
Perhaps it is petty, but I don't remember signing up for the Hrant-of-the-Month club all those years ago. And since Hrant has publicly stated that he has gotten "Virtually Nothing" from me, I don't understand why he takes me deleting my own content so personally. Most of which was self-serving promotional copy announcing this or that new release. Oh there was that "Looking for an Alternate Term for Pro" thread that he thinks I deleted to cover my tracks. What ever those tracks are.
News to Hrant; there is no alternative term to Pro.
But fear not, I've stopped deleting things, I actually do have a day job. Guys?
Have you noticed how many once regular contributors no longer post to the Hrant-of-the-Month Club? Staggering when you count them up. Consider me one of them. I'll not be back, so you can comment on this to your heart's content, if that does it for you, but you'll get no response from me.
And as for you Mr Aluminum, maybe you should spend less time here on the Hrant-of-the Month Club and perhaps finish that website of yours: http://www.darrelaustin.com/
But James, your former student's Hrant-free forum hasn't had a single post by anybody in six days. And on that forum you've been flagged a Troll twice.
I don't control you - you've lost control of yourself. And you won't regain it until you stop blaming others.
The only potentially offensive thing I've been doing lately is confronting somebody who has been abusing a place that I value. Maybe you have no respect for online forums. I do know that James doesn't.
Maybe what you want Typophile to be (I can't tell what that might be since all you've been doing is disruption - feel free to clarify) is the equivalent of a boring and pointless cocktail party? Or at least, "ruins it for many others"? Whatever you want Typophile to be, try to do it yourself (here or elsewhere) but don't expect submission. Ignore what you don't like, and don't expect nobody to care.
BTW I've been here over 12 years, and I've seen this movie before.

Ditto. Same thing, from a different point of view. My lack of contribution (your perspective) stems from the fact that I do not post on every thread, offering advice on things I know little about (my perspective).

Big news, James! Just tweeted it.
3 Aug 2012 — 11:31am
I see we can still necro-delete. Sigh.
3 Aug 2012 — 11:40am
And it's certainly a better investment in time than actually posting something useful.

I believe this was the VF Sans announcement.
4 Aug 2012 — 7:04am
Yeah, but is anybody going to bother trying to preserve anything?
Not [even] I.
I'm just glad I wasn't his dad during his teenage years.

My dad and mom died years ago. Don't worry about my teenage years.
It is my intent to delete everything I've ever posted.
I will delete this in short order as well.
Cheers.

Just FYI, James Montalbano, I've kept the best one. So you'll have to fly over here and break into my computer to delete it.
Oh, and:

No respect for communal IP.
5 Aug 2012 — 11:44am
What's your problem?
5 Aug 2012 — 1:26pm
Oh Hrant. Give the poor guy a clean break up!
5 Aug 2012 — 1:49pm
Clean break-up? You mean like this?

I owe Typophile a lot, and James virtually nothing.

"It is my intent to delete everything I've ever posted."
Yes, that's quite apparent. And quite petty.
But so be it.

"Perhaps it is petty"
It's very petty.
As is ranting about Hrant.
As is worrying about someone's web site.
But you're free to be petty and the site offers you the tools to do it, so be it.
7 Aug 2012 — 4:39pm
I believe in not hiding my mistakes.
Quite, and that ruins Typophile for me and many others.
