Would like to figure out what this typeface is but have no idea where to start. Found it used on a project by Studio Newwork in New York.

there is an old Postscript Type 1 font called ObeliskL which dates back to 1991 and matches exactly your sample, but I have no other information about it, like designer, foundry etc.
(It's not "ITC Obelisk")

Might it be the same as Obelysk Grotesk by Lanston?
