Sans Serif on a Circle?

Any suggestions for a typeface (pretty neutral) that works particularly well when placed around a circle (in a circular shape)?

A client wants me to do this, but it always looks wrong to me.

It depends on the setting, but the first I would try would be something wide, in caps. Some possibilities here: http://www.fontshop.com/fontlist/genres/wide_grotesque/
