anyone know if this has been digitized?

See also Anticca from Fountain. It's free! (Though certainly good enough to pay for...)

you might also take a look at 66 Rodeo from Baseline Fonts.

Ralphie, Letterhead Fonts has some nice Western styles, too. (oops, maybe I could have linked all these in 1 post.)

Anticca is great, BJ -- thanks for the link.

Just to widen the field, FontFont's Zapata takes the Ye Olde West wood cut idea to a different extreme.

Thank Addison actually. :-)

WaldenFonts has some very similar fonts in its "Wild West" collection:

For those who prefer their angles in multiples of 45 degrees:

Not so bold but very close to Assay Regular from Solo.
The "big" differences I've seen are the "e" (that looks a little out of shape in the sample) and the serif of the "d", but curiously in the Solotype Catalog (p.9) besides other styles of Assay you can see that "d" with the lower serif.

And not so close but probably going to the same gym Gothic Tuscan Concave from Wooden Type Fonts.

"going to the same gym"

Awesome, Ignacio.

Mexia from Nick's Fonts is in the same vein, but
does not have a lowercase.
