It should be legible.

Any suggestions?

Where on the Subtle <-> Cheesy axis should it be?
What's it for?

Google for
font faux arabic

You'll find many choices.

Harold Lohner has a pretty good faux Arabic font called Alhambra, I believe; in a slightly different vein, but a decidedly Arabian vibe...

The classic is Legend, designed by Ernst Schneidler and published in 1937 by Bauer.
This was all I could find.

Aziz: You may have misinterpreted Miriam's request. She's looking for a roman (ABC) font or fonts that appear to look like Arabic writing, not an Arabic font.

@ She's looking for a roman (ABC) font or fonts that appear to look like Arabic writing

So, a depth-in understanding of Arabic writing might be of help?!

Quite the opposite. It would only be confusing! It would be like giving an analytical geometry textbook to someone who's looking for a geometric font ;)

I would suggest GE SS.
