Hi Typophilian mates!

Well I love try to design some fontface cuz I’m just a begginer on this discipline, in fact, my start is this year and my previuos experience is on Calligrhy.
I come to tell to all of you that this is my first full character set designed and I would like take your opinion and critiques about this work and so you can help me to improve it, please.

“Farola”

The uppercases Farola are very decorative then its lowercases are most regular for keep a little of equilibrium.

This is a Display font is done to be used on big sizes, titles or logos.

Venice type

I spent some time in Venice this Summer, and found some interesting type here and there.

We stayed in the hotel Bologna in Mestre, which had some type dotted about:

the bathroom window (or half of them):

this was on the corridor wall:

Australian Type Club logo

What can be done to this to make it a
typographic logo truly worthy of a
national type society?

The red-orange color is meant to evoke the “red center” of Australia with ——>the rock Uluru<—— being our national icon.

The store will accept it’s last orders Thursday night at midnight. We’ll put our hardest working interns to the task of shipping everything on the 15th. The store will then close for a six month hiatus.

Thanks for everybody’s support, your support has exceeded our target and we’re optimistic about a reprint of some of the old classics.

For now you can get ’em while the ink is still drying: http://typophile.bigcartel.com

Tour de Ink

Several of us toil away with pens, brushes and other “wet” tools. We have varying associations with BCP’s at different points in time.

Whether it is slick or rough, type or titling all of us ply our trade with a firm background in having made letters by hand for many years. The computer is just another tool used in the process as opposed to the genesis.

We just thought we would put up a WIDE variety of takes on the alphabet.

This piece is by Gerard Huerta. He will throw in on this tomorrow. What is important is that the “script” began as a refined pencil that was illuminated later on the computer. I think I have one of his last inked pieces of lettering.
