Hi There,

I've got a brief to make a small book/booklet in the style of a "Dockers Workbook" celebrating one man (union leader Walt Cunningham's) life on the docks of Hull between 1950's-1980's.

i have been looking everywhere for a nice clear legible serif typeface to use for my body copy , i found one that i loved FF Scala Pro Regular http://www.fontshop.com/fonts/downloads/fontfont/ff_scala_pro/ it works n perfectly with the ethos of my type having been use in books depicting democratic revolutions/movements and in Museum booklets. The elegance of this typeface is exactly what i need but don't have the € 299.00 to purchase it on a student's income.

SWISSTED - flyers into international typographic style posters.
Using Berthold Akzidenz-grotesk Medium (not Helvetica).

Hello everyone. I am a novice in type design aiming on making a serif (and if possible, a sans-serif companion) type system aimed at newspaper use. I am still in development, and I am looking at some other fonts that look great on print.

Hello all,

I have a Web/Graphic Design startup I am working on and I have 3 logos I have come down to choosing. The name of the company is NE Elements, which is a play on the word any, so its really "Any Elements." The point being we use the elements of man to design things. Please look at the 3 logos posted in black and white and pick the one you like. I haven't designed any with color yet, and will move on with that once I choose a logo. Thanks all for your help. Feedback is very welcome.

Perpetua(l) distress!

Hi everyone!
This is my first post on this forum, and i really really needed some advice.

My client has a logo already designed using Perpetua (for the main logo type). I need a matching serif and sans serif font to use for the stationary and subsequent collaterals.... and i didn't really want to use Perpetua (i dont like it very much, its so stuffy and old). i know an obvious choice would be Gill sans, but i don't like that font very much either (something about the question mark annoys me)

please help! i've been wracking my brains staring at my screen for hours.

thanks in advance

Me & Martina Flor created this new project called www.letteringvscalligraphy.com

Hello,

I am looking for sources and suggestions on creating a font that demonstrates habits. For my final graphic design project, I have to design a typographical bookjacket for "The Power of Habit." Briefly, it is about how habits have the power to control and reform the success or failures of businesses, transform societies, and change our lives. The reaccuring theme is how habits work with a cue that triggers the routine, and finally what we gain from it. (Think of a continuous circle, and how habits pick up power by happening over and over again)

I am trying to use a process that can guide my design solution, but am having a difficult time with representing habits in my type design. Any place to start, ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

Hello all! I'm new to the forum and my name is Filippo. I actually work as graphic designer in Italy and I'm specialized in brand identity (Sorry for my bad English!!!).
I'm very interested in typography and would like, one day, to start creating a complete set of glyphs. Unfortunately right now I understood only some fundamentals of typography and so I'm here to ask you, experts, some questions that turns in my mind! Hope you will be so kind as to answer. :-)

I'm searching for some kind of training in Sydney on drawing letters. Whether that's a workshop/course, a book or some website, I don't know. I know it's sort of all about practice, but my drawing technique has fallen behind since I'd stopped drawing for a while now, and I guess I want to get in the routine of practicing, but I don't know where to start. Can anyone direct me?

Thanks!

Does anyone know if there is a program I can use that will make a sample of all the typefaces in my library which can then be printed our or made into a PDF for reference?

Thank you.

In one of my college lessons, its states that typography refers to mechanically-reproduced letters while calligraphy refers to hand-rendered letters. I wondered if this is technically correct, despite the general use of the word "typography" to refer to the study and use of letterforms?

Typostrate is about type and what you can do with it. Typography is more than only words and letters arranged in a nice way. Its a way of living and combining every facet of art and design. Wanna read more? Check out the blog typostrate!

Can anyone point me toward a font that is similar to the "ESELER" part of this wordmark?

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to identify this Gothic font.
It was found in Tschichold's Master Typographer.

Thanks very much

Hi, I'm doing a project on "engaging the audience" and getting them to feel inspired and appreciate typography, My audience is 4-16 year olds. My aim is to try and inspire 4-16 year olds to appreciate typography and possibly enjoy it more. I've done some secondary research into my age range and have even tried to make typography attractive via means of colour and shape but i'm not really getting much feedback when i approach people who stop and look. I was wondering if anybody may have some helpful suggestions or advice?

Thanks!

I am designing the latest issue of one of my magazines. The font we use is Kepler as headings and body copy mixed with Verlag as title headings. I am not loving the font Kepler and want to change it but not too dramatically - any advice much appreciated on which alternative font I could use that would mix well with Verlag. I have looked at Farnham but fear it may be too trendy for the magazine. It is a womans magazine, but for the older generation.

Thanks in advance
