letters

Do you have any tips on how you approach drawing the letter S?

All I seem to be able to do is make a hot mess of beziers.

It's my first post, so hello everyone.
I would like to know your opinion about this logo, which I created for publishing company called WiR. It's completely imaginary company which produces books and e-books in two languages. My idea is that they have a special method where text flow from one language to the other. That's why I tried to connect all 3 letters. "W" and "R" are first letters of founders surnames and "i" is "and" in my language. What do you think?

Help with tattoo font!

Hey!

I'm about to make my first tattoo and I need to know the exact font of this picture. Could you please help me identify it? (See attached file).

Thank you!

My roommate got this poster, I assume those are some school-type-teacher-bought letters. Not sure though how I can emulate them as a Font tho.

Thanks

Copy and paste

Hi all,

I'm in the process of creating my first font and was wondering if you (more experienced) guys could answer me a quick question: how much cut and paste is ok? What I mean is this: can I simply re-use my b for p (and q), or n from h, or r from n and so on. (I documented some of this in a blog post a blog post, if you are interested.) Should design every letter from the ground up or can I use this kind of shortcut?

I'm not sure if this kind of copy and pasting is messing up the rhythm of the font or if it is actually standard practice.

Thanks, HP

Hi, well I'm trying to unite two letters but when doing so the final shape is distorted.
What I did was converted the letters to Create Outlines. After that I selected both shapes and united them in the Pathfinder tab. The result was a distorted final shape.
What can I do so it doesn't distort.

Thanks.

Hi fellas!
I was make a new font thinking in posters design, my inspiration was the "Ton" shape then leave really soft curves for each line that we need to solve.. hope you like it and if you want drop a comment or critique.
regard mates
