In 2008 TypeTogether released the Bree typeface, a sleek sans serif that quickly became a favorite among brand and editorial designers.

Bree Serif follows the same theme as its predecessor. It is a young and energetic upright italic that approaches readers with hip and somewhat elegant charm. It has a range of styles that can perform as counterparts to the original Bree fonts. At the same time though they bring a whole range of new and individual features that make Bree Serif a separate type family in its own right.

Our largest type family just got bigger! Originally designed by Veronika Burian and José Scaglione as a titling typeface, Tablet Gothic is quickly becoming a news designer's favourite. The font delivers the sturdy, straightforward and clean appearance expected from a grotesque combined with a good measure of personality. Now with the obliques making it a total of 84 fonts with six grades of condensation, Tablet Gothic can deliver consistent impact even better, whatever the publication format.

Gerard Unger's multi-award winning typeface now features small caps in all of its styles. After the release of Capitolium 2 and Capitolium News 2, which take advantage of OpenType possibilities and feature a broader language coverage –including accents for northern and central Europe languages– editorial designers from around the globe started to ask for small cap support... You asked for it, we deliver!

Veronika Burian's multi-award winning type family Maiola has grown even bigger. Its Pan-European OpenType Pro version now supports, in addition to Cyrillic and Latin A, full polytonic Greek. The calligraphic details of Maiola collaborate gracefully with each of the three scripts and generate a sense of consistent personality that creates a welcoming tension on the page. The polytonic extension was done by Greek specialist Irene Vlachou.

The experimental Eskapade fraktur by Alisa Nowak, received two additions to the family. This time, Alisa created two fonts of the old-style nature adapting a humanist structure with condensed proportions. Both, the roman and italic have strong links to the Fraktur providing for a balanced harmony in mixed text-settings. Please contact us for details, if you wish to upgrade to the full Eskapade family.

A practical sans serif need not appear dry, constructed, or derivative. It can excel in its sensible role and yet possess a distinct flair. Iskra (spark or flash) is a new sans serif designed by Tom Grace.

Due to popular demand and our continuous effort to broaden language support, we have been working on a Cyrillic extension for our award-winning typeface Adelle. As its Latin sister, Adelle Cyrillic is intended for multi-purpose editorial use, providing robustness and personality. To guarantee consistency throughout the two scripts they also share proportions, colour and general features without stepping beyond typographic acceptance. Alexandra Korolkova was a great help in finding the right tone and fine-tune subtleties of shapes. All 14 styles will be available later in the summer.

Iskra (spark or flash) is a new daring sans serif typeface by talented designer Tom Grace, who has already published two interesting typefaces with TypeTogether, the blackletter Givry and Alizé, a chancery italic.
Iskra, containing several width and weight variations, was conceived to challenge the limits between utilitarian and decorative. Sporting a low-contrast profile, it is a study of bridled energy in the Cyrillic and Latin scripts, and an oblique tribute to the less-predictable style of brush lettering. The first 14 styles will be available at the end of summer.

Sirba, a robust typefamily by Nicolien van der Keur, for complex text environments, now offers even more possibilities. The recent update includes a full set of phonetic symbols, designed upon request for the use in dictionaries, and the extension to polytonic Greek. Although the historical way of writing Latin and Greek is very different from each other, the Greek is designed to harmonize well when used together with the Latin. Irene Vlachou and Gerry Leonidas assisted the development of Sirba polytonic Greek with their professional expertise.

We welcome the very talented Alisa Nowak and her Eskapade to TypeTogether's family.

The Eskapade family is the result of research confronting Roman and German blackletter forms, mainly fraktur letters. The idea is to adapt these broken forms for a contemporary use instead of creating a faithful revival of a historical typeface.

We are pleased to announce that the expected sans serif counterpart to the award-winning Adelle is here.

This sans serif proposes a cleaner and more spirited take on the traditional grotesque sans. As typical with TypeTogether fonts, the most demanding editorial design pieces were taken into consideration when engineering Adelle Sans. The combination of its lively character and unobstrusive appearance that is inherent to grotesque sans serifs make it an utterly versatile tool for any imaginable graphic application, whether it is branding, signage or advertising. Without any doubt, the key word behind Adelle Sans’ design is flexibility.

Soleil, designed by Wolfgang Homola, is a geometric sans serif typeface. Unlike most existing geometric sans serif typefaces, it has asymmetrical counters, making it look fresher, more dynamic and more contemporary. Simple geometric forms – such as the circle or the square – played a certain role in the design of the letterforms, but in order to introduce more fluidity into the rather stiff and rigid concept of geometric sans serif typefaces, a lot of optical corrections were necessary.

Birdy was especially created during the Graphic Design Walk as part of the London Design Festival. The event was organised by the team of GraphicBirdWatching who invited TypeTogether to participate. Veronika was drawing live this new typeface, Birdy, conceived there and then. A projector allowed visitors to follow her drawing letters and gave opportunity to ask questions directly about the design process. Birdy is now available for free to download. The character set is limited to upper- and lowercase a some basic punctuation. An extension is in progress. Keep in touch for updates.

We added a new Book style with its accompanying italic to our successful type family Maiola. It is darker in colour, making reading an even more pleasant experience.
