Some things to keep in mind before you post or offer critique
1. Your thread will be on Google.
It is important to remember that not all clients want the work which you are doing for them in the search engines. Before you post work for critique keep this in mind because the search engines love Typophile. Sometimes it is best to keep things generic or, if you want to use the company name, consider only using images with the logo, etc., and ask that no one type the company name.
We don't wish for anyone to lose their jobs because of a thread on Typophile, but it is our policy not to delete threads and we don't delete them without consideration.
2. Be helpful, but be polite.

Interested in figuring out the main serif font (body text/equations) and the sans-serif font (charts at end of document).
So, how far did some typefaces go?
A few years ago I did this poster which showed various achievements by some iconic or well known typefaces (and one personal preference) This was based on how far the type had traveled from the earths sea level (and still was visible, so I did not include launch notes printed in comic sans!)
I had to make a reprint this week, and this got me wondering. I went for the easy pickings: Typefaces many people know, and achievements/places many people know. But I'm sure there are many more interesting tales of type traveling out there, especially further in history.
So, does anyone have some nice stories?
ID - thank you it's a pleasure to serve you
Any ideas? It looks a lot like Avant Garde, but for the "t" "s" and "k".
Condensed sans-serif with alternate inline version
Looking for the sans-serif typeface used in this infographic with the condensed version as well as the inline condensed version.

Can anyone give me the names of a few fonts that look like this?
I have seen a number of old hand painted signs that include these heavy letters with pointed serifs at the top and bottom. I have drawn an "A" to illustrate this. I have looked all over for a few typefaces that resemble this and have had no luck. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Damien

Design difficulties with multilingual open type font
Hello,
I have a need for a single multilingual font including English, Bengali and Devanagari scripts. My development environment is Windows 7. I am using Type Tool 3.0 for Glyph editing and Microsoft Volt 1.3 for creating Open Type features.
The current state of the project is that I have managed to combine English and Bengali and all features seem to work perfectly in the Volt proofing tool but not so in in Windows MS Word 7 and In-design on Mac OS 10.7, though they are mostly working in these platforms. However in its present state it is not usable due to the following difficulties. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
General Difficulties (Windows + Mac In-Design)
- Bengali Reph positioning is not working (OT 'abvm' feature)

Double Elephant Sextos and other whacky vintage typobabble
Hi all,
I've just read about James Joyce's Copenhagen Cats apparently being 'illegally published' in the UK. It's format is DOUBLE ELEPHANT SEXTOS. Amazing!
Can anyone think of other whacky vintage (or otherwise) typotalk?
Nut, mutton, etc don't seem to live up to DOUBLE ELEPHANT SEXTOS!

Thanks,
mike
Motiva Sans' major facelift.

Motiva Sans has been received a major facelift, with revised shapes, all new true italics, small caps, and OT features.
Until March first, it's available at the old price of 10.00 a piece or 45.00 for the whole family (6 weights: Light, Regular, Bold and Light Italic, Regular Italic and Bold Italic)!
Check it out at MyFonts!
Cheers!

Do you know this Calligraphic Serif?
I think it's something similar to Zapf Calligraphic. Notice the cross bars on the "f" and "t". Thanks for you help.

On sunday I felt I needed to create a typeface to be able to live with myself. From scratch and in absence of any direct influence. Here's what it has become so far.
What my purpose for this typeface is:
-Relatively big x-height (attenuation of hierarchy)
-Some caps with similitude to the lowercase (e.g B, C, D, P, R) (attenuation of hierarchy)
-Semi Serif with more contrast (without resembling Rotis)
-Combine modulation of stroke with a geometric feel
-Character set will contain old-style figures, ligatures, alternates
-Modest language coverage
-Experiment with interpolation: extra light version will be more geometric, fat version will have a much more modulated stroke.
-Italics with a moderate 5° slope
-Redemption
