Has anyone written an article comparing all the Courier variants and Courier-inspired faces out there? Courier (Adobe, Monotype, Linotype, ParaType, E+F, and more), Dark Courier, Monospace, Nimbus Mono, FreeMono, Courier New, Courier Ragged, Hellschreiber Serif, etc.
I know what you're probably thinking. "Courier, really? That tired old hanger-on from days of an obsolete technology" etc etc. Or maybe you're like me, and are actually somewhat fond of the old workhorse.
Does anybody know the font used on this theatre review sign attached?
Marapfhont and Squarish Sans are the first two fonts I made to see any use other than my own. I'd appreciate your comments.
I'd appreciate your opinions of the Hebrew characters in Marapfhont and Squarish Sans.
I recently read Eric Gill's An Essay on Typograhy and found it quite interesting, especially since Gill connects his thoughts on typography and his craft with his whole philosophy on life. Though it is hard to agree with this man on everything, he has some interesting ideas to wrestle with, and it is interestng to read this work 80 years down the road from when he wrote it.
So that was a short recommendation for all of you who can't read my blogpost in Norwegian here:
