Can anyone convert this into a font?

Forums:

Hello all,

I found this image in an old french book of lettres. I was wondering if it could be desaturated and made into a font somehow. I do not have the resources or the know-how to do this. If you're able to do this and don't mind, I'd be very appreciative if you could send me over the .otf or .ttf file.

Thanks

The Magnificent Times New Roman

Hi People,

I would like to tell you how magnificent Times New Roman in Indonesia is. Times New Roman (especially in 12 point for body text) is very standard in various writing. Every scientific writings, school assignments, government documents, law documents and other non-casual non-modular (i.e like advertisement etc) should use Times New Roman. I ever created a assignment in Georgia and my teacher in high school rejected my assignment. In every single University in Indonesia, all of scientific writing (minithesis, thesis, dissertation, paper etc) must be printed in Times New Roman 12. I don't know how why people standardize and convene Time New Roman as the one and only formal serif font that able to use in Indonesia. This kind of 'natural' convention is really irritating me.

my first font needs a harsh critique

Forums:

New to design!
I have very little experience and only just started to act on my interest in typography.
This was mostly a dabbler's interest, until recently.
I submitted my first font, called Whale, to MyFonts. They promptly rejected it and basically said it was totally unprofessional. It's meant mainly for display, so I don't know why I bothered submitting to them in the first place, but I now have a stronger desire to make this font as good as it can be. Maybe even simplify it for use beyond just displays.
My feelings will not be hurt. I would greatly appreciate a serious critique of my design so that I can make the next version of Whale far better.
Thanks for your time.

New release – Kamenica

Forums:

“Kamenica” - named after a beautiful small mountain river in Serbia - is a font family containing 3 weights: Light, Regular and Bold.

The Kamenica river is only a few meters wide. Mostly shallow and cold, clear and green, it was the direct inspiration source for the creation of this condensed typeface. As our other typefaces, “Kamenica” also combines traditional shapes with modern forms, tall x-height and a collection of more than 300 glyphs.

Comparing the river with the font, we could say that letters are the fishes that lives in the Kamenica river and that the font weights are the seasons in which this river shows most of its own character.

Platinus Script Pro - New at Sudtipos

Forums:

Just in time for Xmas and New Year celebration we are proud to introduce a new font to our growing collection.

Platinus Script Pro is the latest example of what has now become a Sudtipos tradition: Adapting conventional calligraphic methods from the last two centuries to produce modern digital scripts for the current one.

This time the resulting font explores the evolution of invitation scripts from the classic commercial lettering of the 1930s to the ideas clearly visible in the greeting cards of the 1980s and 1990s.

Most base characters are made up of a single stroke, with some of strokes driven from the top down,

Outlier Italic: Feedback Please. First Typeface

Forums:

This is a very quick and rough (very rough) draft of my typeface. I was just looking for feedback and everyones first impressions keep in mind this is my first typeface and I am relatively new to the process.

I have currently only done the lowercase just because I'm not 100% sure what direction I should be going in. I was going for an italic serif loosely based off of Bodoni and I tried to go with the Old style/ Transitional style.

First impression, critique, technical aspects any comment will be helpful thank you.

I'm really having trouble with c/e/f/y/k/s/ but of course I will take any advice on all or any of the letters.

Examples of Times New Roman in use

Hi, as part of my current Uni. project I am researching the use of Times New Roman, and really need to build up a gallery of pictures of it in use.

I've been doing some searching but can't find an awful lot, I was wondering if anybody could suggest some campaigns/identities to look at, particularly major ones, but the more the better.

Thanks
-Ben
