Font Manager Recommendations for OSX Leopard?
Commented on Thursday, 20 November 2008 - 4:41am

Well,

I used FAP 3 until Fontexplorer appeared. It was the Fontmanager I was waiting for. It worked like a charm in Tiger, but since upgrading to Leopard I encountered some problems.
- System font activation status isn't always up to date...

I've received an e-mail from Robert Lovely, who assured me there's a version with ß and that he'll send it to me, but I didn't recieve it yet…

Trinite f-ligatures
Commented on Wednesday, 19 April 2006 - 4:41am

I tought Trinité was so well designed that it didn't need any ligatures. With the n°2 the stem of the lowercase f always covers the point of the i.

You can see it clearly on the sample sheet (...

Which Bembo?
Commented on Thursday, 1 December 2005 - 10:26am

This year Monotype released a new “fatter” version of Bembo, called Bembo Book. A discussion can be found here: http://www.typophile.com/node/10267

It's tempting to buy the whole family, but my budget doesn't allow me just yet. I'll see what I can do with combining the 2.

Hmmm;
I hope Adobe does not go the same way as QuarK.
I've downloaded a couple of CS2 tryout apps (golive & illy) today, and I was very, very disappointed.

/Rant mode on/

Golive is outdated IMHO, and tries to look like a...

Man, indeed, I hate these signs!

I know they have the exact same typeface for signs in the countries of the former people's republic of Yugoslavia.

I also know that M. Olyff made a pretty good alternative somewhere in the seventies,...

FontAgent Pro 3
Commented on Monday, 17 January 2005 - 11:34am

It still doesn’t remember my “view” preferences. I like to see the activated fonts first, but when I restart FA, it forgets your previous pane-settings.

And the interface could use a clean-up too. So messy. Other than that, the greatest, most reliable FontSoftware for OS X!

FontAgent Pro 3
Commented on Tuesday, 18 January 2005 - 4:14am

@Grant: It remembers the settings of the panes, but not what’s inside the panes. The sort-order and things like that. I believe that Suitcase did that.

@ Refusenik: I prefer FontAgent because in runs in the background. If you quit...

Mac vs. PC
Commented on Friday, 21 January 2005 - 3:50am

Hey no one used the “mac are more beautifully designed” argument yet ;-)

Anyways…
