Question: should I turn justification on or off on my website?
Commented on Friday, 24 October 2014 - 5:07am

Hi guys,

@riccard0 Thanks man, I'll keep it on.

@GrubStreet, @Martin Silvertant Good suggestion about the javascript. I'm not a developer but definitely will check it out.

I like the design! Although it feels like it might be missing some sort of concept to make it more memorable.

I'm not a professional typographer but I feel the serifs on top 'typ' don't work nicely together. Especially since it's a logotype....

Funny your comment about making the tittle a little bit bigger because I also instinctively thought about that when I first saw the design but I failed to mention it in the comment. I like your new squarisch tittle bye the way.

I don't like the...

I think it's a very cool display font with lots of personality. No doubt it will sell a lot.

My first thought was to make the J taller so you can see the F more clearly. Same as what riccard0 is suggesting.

I get the concept. But I think this word is a little bit to long to get away with it.

Just doesn't look right.

You could use a nice big ampersand to make it more of a design.

'the baseline grid'

@Bert Vanderveen

How can that work? The points match exactly with my baseline, mm don't. Of course it will snap to the baseline, but isn't there a better way?

Hi all,

The baseline is actually 16pt, the height of my leading. I think that's also the only way to make the system work mathematically. (am I correct?)

If this baseline grid is good, what would be the appropriate sizes for my headings...

I've read something about Fibonacci in typography for instance.
But I don't really like it since 9 is to small en 13 to big for print.

Thanks Bert, I will look into it.

My InDesign is not so good yet. (Not used to paragraph styles etc.)

I think my 'h2' is a few points to big.

Does anyone know where to find solid information on the subject?

I would go for option A

But I still think there is room for improvement.

Hi Hrant and George,

It's for print. Despite the large x-height I thought it might work, but I guess it's off the table now. Also I must have overlooked the fact that there are no italics. (wich is a problem)

I'm really fond of your...

Hi all,

I like Gentium's style and slightly higher x-hight more than Brill, but they still both feel a bit old fashioned.

Thanks for the suggestions though.

Oef this is ugly.

I suggest you draw something that feels right first before you move on to a digital execution.

The one with the tittle definitly makes it more of a unique brand,

Overall I like it. Maybe you can have another look at the stroke widths. I think the thicks could be a hair thinner.

Could you try a lighter weight Klavika? And maybe give it some more space to breath (line height).

I like the mark although I think you can tweak the flag a bit more to make it even better.

In general: don't make gradients an essential...

Reminds me of simplebits logo.

Start off with some tight geometry because this design is clumsy.

Maybe go for a mirrored E ? Very quick sketch.
