What are some modern examples of a body being set in blackletter?

Great for bibles back in the day.

Thanks in advance.

ISitude ...logotype tracking check
Posted 16 Oct 2013 - 11:41pm

Hi all y'all! I'm just finishing up the logo for my personal pet project ISitude and I left the type stock out of the box without any tracking manipulation. But the space between the u and the d feels awkward ...or is that just me?

I just finished some cd/lp cover art for my all time favorite hip hop client (who BTW has one of my designs tattoo on his arm!!) that allowed me to completely mangle a cut...

GOD is
Posted 1 Sep 2013 - 2:24am

I'm pretty much sure that in at least one regard we are all the same. No matter what. And that regard is an ongoing questioning/expression to/of a higher power ... a.k.a. GOD.

I thought I'd offer up a means by which we all (as in the whole...

Sometimes I feel like challenging myself ...I challenge myself to see where I am in my abilities as a graphic designer. I go to the streets of capitalism and find some young people, 18-24 or so, who are just starting out in life with their hopes and...

General question about talent
Posted 12 May 2013 - 3:04pm

So is it fair to say that ' talent' is a product of the instrument being used and not of the person using the instrument?

Remove the piano from the hands of Mozart, paint from Van Gogh, etc., would the individual still be recognized as a talent...

Mesh font
Posted 14 Mar 2013 - 2:53pm

Every now and then I get a chance to work on my next* font which I think of it as a mesh font but I guess it's just another pixel font. It will come in both serif and sans serif and all will have the characteristic of ruff cut messiness :)

Looking for a solid Textura(?) blackletter typeface
Posted 6 Feb 2013 - 12:33am

Hi, I'm in dire need of a solid looking blackletter without many ornateness to it's expression. Perhaps something like this...

And the /G/ must be legible at quick first glace.

And hopefully it's not one of those free ones that I've seen...

Hip Hop graphic
Posted 17 Jan 2013 - 12:48am

Social media graphics for one of my Hip Hop clients has given my graphics a chance to leave lameville. Lameville was a comfortable safe place to visit compared to shitsville, but I'm really glad to leave both in my rear view.

Dollar Symbol / Sign ... 2 vertical strokes or 1?
Posted 1 Nov 2012 - 2:11pm

Most of the fonts I own have the dollar symbol with only one vertical stroke, and sometime of those the stroke doesn't go all the way through the S shape instead simply projects from top of the S shape and from the bottom of the S shape.
